Blue Velvet Damselfish
The Blue Velvet Damselfish, or Blue Devil, features flashy neon colored electric-blue horizontal stripes dashed across its face and upper body. Also called the Japanese Damselfish, the center stripe fades as the fish ages. The Blue Devil is an easy fish for a beginner but requires clean water and needs its own territory unless kept in a larger tank. The Damsel is an omnivore and can be fed on all kinds of live, frozen, and flake foods and algae, and also is best to feed small amounts several times a day. Javanese Damsels require some rocky areas for hiding and grazing.
