Long Mouth Pipefish
Pipefish are unusual looking ambush predators, and share many characteristics with the seahorse. Their long skinny body looks like sticks in the pond, and these fish will float near their prey and whip their mouth to the right or left and grab it. The doryththys pipefish is a rare freshwater fish and looks great in a planted aquarium. Freshwater pipefish can also do well in a brackish aquarium. This species will do well in small tanks as well as large, and are peaceful with other fish that cannot fit into their long narrow jaws.
