Another crypt from our Florida grower, these medium light plants grow to about eight inches and will grow out along the aquarium substrate through runners. Cryptocoryne  wendtii come in three variations: green, red, and brown and are very popular for aquariums due to their tolerance for varying Ph and lighting. Native to Sri Lanka, Wendtii are named for a famous Dutch aquarium hobbyist named Albert Wendtii, our USA equivalent of Herbert Axelrod. Proof that “famous” is a very relative word, neither of these persons will ever be in school history books but we wish they were.
