Blue Eye Candy Cane Cardinal
Features a striped body with its characteristic blue eyeliner surrounding its eyes. They should be given a dark shelter, since they are active at night and specifically hides under ledges and corals during the day. Therefore, the reef tank has to be decorated with enough rock work and reef crevices. The Blue Eye Cardinal thrives well in lower temperatures, but 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit while ensuring a strong filtration is acceptable. The levels of nitrate, ammonia and nitrite should be kept low for its healthy survival and growth. The Blue Eye Cardinal feeds on a varied diet containing shrimp and other fresh and frozen meaty foods, plus pellets, flakes and other dry prepared foods. It lives longer if kept in pairs or groups, and also lives peacefully for many years with other tank inhabitants. The Blue Eye Cardinal is reef compatible. It is a durable fish that does well in any aquarium, thus making it a very good choice for the beginner aquarists. It is a peaceful fish that gets along well with other community fishes, but sometimes, it might become a threat to smaller anemone shrimp and nano-gobies.
