Synodontis Multipunctatus
There is no common name for the synodontis multipunctatus, so one has to learn to say it. These African catfish are slow growers and very difficult to breed, but they are among the most colorful in the fish tank. The multipunctatus has a greenish hue body with a leapord pattern and white fringed fins. Since these fish only grow to three inches they are perfect for most aquariums. Originally flown in from Lake Tanganyika in the Great Rift Valley of Africa, today these catfish are normally bred by specialists in the USA. These catfish should not be confused with the Synodontis decorus, a much larger and common species that grows to 10 inches but looks similar when young.
