Lantern Basslet
Takes a great aquarium addition given the correct aquarium mates. The Lantern Basslet is attractive and hardy, but may be harmful to some smaller fish and ornamental fish. Growing to only three inches in length, it is a fish of appropriate size for all but the smallest of aquariums. If more than one is to be present in the same aquarium, it is recommended to introduce them at the same time. The Lantern Basslet spends it time swimming actively and occasionally digging in the substrate using its somewhat elongated snout. Its deep red, marbled body is accented by a yellow lateral line running down the body in healthy specimens. A bright white may be visible at times on the ventral fins.
