The turquoise rainbowfish is also known as the Lake Kutubu rainbowfish and grows to a beautiful blue schooling fish. Like many Indonesian tropical fish the native habitat of these fish are either being destroyed or converted to fish farms due to overpopulation. Fortunately these fish are bred in Asia and Florida and have proven to be quite hardy in the aquarium environment. So once again the aquarium trade comes to the rescue of a beautiful species.
